The Challenge
The 06 Legacy came to us because they needed to refresh their website and branding to better reflect their vision and mission for wolf advocacy in the United States. The website they had was bloated with outdated content and wasn’t easy to navigate.
Our Solution
At The 06 Legacy they are very passionate and want to share the story of 06 and the value of protecting wolves. The website needed an overhaul and new information architecture to tell the right story and gain the attention of new supporters and politicians.

Branding + Identity
During the early stages of re-branding the client came to us with a new name, The 06 Legacy, named after the famous alpha female wolf that was killed by a hunter outside of Yellowstone park in 2006. The famous wolf has become the beacon and symbol for The 06 Legacy’s purpose and mission of protecting wolves around the nation.
Because 06 was such a huge part of the group it just made sense that we incorporate that into the logo. We sketched out different versions of wolf logos, some more literal and general than others, but we ultimately landed on a badge design with an illustration of 06 on a ridge watching over The Lamar Valley. The badge needed to be detailed enough to represent 06 but also simple enough to scale and still be legible.

Web Design & Development
We took what the client currently had and crafted a website that was simplified down to make the easier to digest and navigate. Even though Yellowstone was the main focus of The 06 Legacy, wolf awareness and advocacy nation-wide was also important. We made sure to include a place to talk about current trends and stats with wolf protection in different states around the US.
When it came to the mood board direction we went with an organic rustic color palette that is earthy and less vibrant to let the amazing photography stand out. Subtle texture was an important element and you can see it sprinkled throughout the website in the background, the icons, and illustrations.

For this site to have a greater impact we needed relevant, high quality photography. The 06 Legacy has a great network of passionate nature photographers and got us in touch with a nature photographer and wolf advocate Jimmy Jones, who graciously gave us permission to use his Yellowstone wolf photos on the website.

The Results
By the end of the project The 06 Legacy had a new brand and website to that reflected their vision an mission for wolf advocacy. The website was informative, concise, and easy to digest and navigate.
