I always wanted to have my own business. This goes all the way back to fifth grade when I would sell candy in the back of the classroom. I had to stop when the principal called me down to his office and told me I could not do that anymore.

After his grandfather inspired him to start a business, Paul’s passion for computers and love of the Internet lead him to forming an IT service and hosting company in 1997. Seeing that clients had additional digital needs, our services and offerings began growing organically to accommodate the folks we worked with. A lot has changed since then, and Paul has worked to ensure our clients always have the solutions needed to be successful online.

Paul earned his bachelor’s degree in telecommunications from Michigan State University (Go Spartans!). Because of ever-changing needs of the web, Paul relies heavily on self-taught knowledge to continuously aid our client and team growth. His responsibilities at Element5 range, and often change daily. However, much of his time is spent identifying the right clients to partner with, sharing his skills at speaking engagements and conferences, and helping manage the team.

Paul credits much of his success to his supportive family, including his wife, three kids (Parker and twin girls: Ali and Morgan), mother, stepfather, and late grandmother and grandfather. The naming of his children was carefully crafted: one of his daughters has the initials of MAC by design; this ensures his household has a MAC and a PC.

In the rare moments that he isn’t working, Paul enjoys hanging out with his family, playing SimCity with his brother in Montana or enjoying one of his many full-sized arcade games, including a few pinball varieties.
