Before 2000, blogging was relatively new and no one considered the option of filing a lawsuit over some silly content website, but Dave’s humor blog, Davezilla, changed that norm. Lawyers from the corporation that owns Godzilla sent a cease and desist letter, explaining that Dave’s dragon logo and ‘zilla suffix were too closely related to the trademark. Dave fought back, won the battle and later became a verb in Urban Dictionary.
